JOB PURPOSE
- Be responsible for the accurate and timely financial management of the organization, for accounting operations, production of periodic financial reports, and maintenance of accounting records.
- As a strong communicator and skilled financial analyst, this person will streamline our budgeting and financial reporting processes. The controller will also produce thorough financial-status reports for senior managers to help improve our operational efficiency and aid in our continued growth.
- The role is key advisor to the business during the budgeting process.
- Co-ordinate with business units on quarterly financial forecast and support the annual budget processes for all operating and non-operating units of DP World Chile and prepare various analysis and presentations for regional senior management and to aid the ARO review process.
- Assisting with financial modelling for various new ventures that the Company is embarking upon.
- Act as a role model when leading and managing other members of the administration team. Be a positive ambassador for safety within the DP World Chile business.
- Manage and lead all the accounting matters of DP World Chile and its subsidiaries, including the correct register of the business based on the accounting principles, preparation of financial statements and regulatory and tax compliances.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Prepare and analyse the financial statements of the company, according to defined accounting principles and current regulations.
- Supervision of the company’s budget execution.
- Resolve tax and accounting matters that affect the operation of the company.
- Coordinate and execute the preparation of the operational and financial budget, monitor compliance,
analyse deviations, and causes, and propose and implement the corresponding corrective actions
and adjustments. - Review and the tasks of analysis, determination of balances and accounting reports, issuance of
financial statements, validate and propose adjustments and corrections. - Manage the preparation of corporate management reports, plan, coordinate and control the
execution of Internal Audit Programs aimed at ensuring compliance with procedures, standards and
efficiency. - Establish and maintain financial controls with the accounting department.
- Carry out safety interactions when visiting the Ports and Depots.
JOB CONTEXT
The job has a broad scope and requires full engagement (discussing, analysing, and questioning to adjust inputs as warranted) with all business units and Directors to be able to support various decision making processes with solid analysis.
The job holder is responsible for reporting and analysis and is required to be up-to-date with all activities in all business units in order to provide accurate and timely financials analysis required. In addition, the company continues to expand the reporting scopes and depth of analytical reporting. As such this position must fully anticipate and comprehensively accommodate such changes and requirements.
This job requires highly motivated, analytical individual who can work with various units in various locations under a very tight timeline and efficiently manage this very complex and demanding process.
The position is a developmental role, and will be expected to deputise for the CFO when required.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in business, accounting, or related fieldProfessional certification, such as CPA (certified public accountant) or CA (chartered accountant) or Postgraduate studies.
- Good understanding of port and logistics operations
- Advanced user of Oracle Financials.
- Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Comfortable working with senior management team
- Able to work with colleagues with different languages, backgrounds, and personalities, needs to have excellent communication skills
- Good personality and team player
- At least 5 years of budget and forecast experience
- Al least 5 years IFRS accounting and reporting experience
- English and Spanish proficiency
